MACKINAC ISLAND, MI, Sept. 25, 2023 ~ In the Michigan GOP Party’s Mackinac Republican Leadership Conference over the weekend, party officials doubled down on conspiracies and pushbacks to their critics.
Surrounded by other loyalists to former President Donald Trump, Michigan Republican Party Chairwoman Kristina Karamo told her critics at the event to “pound sand” in reference to her controversial leadership. Karamo and her supporters gave speeches supporting far-right positions, such as COVID-19 vaccine conspiracies, misinformation on voter fraud in the 2020 election, and denouncing Darwinian evolution.
Detroit News state government and politics reporter Craig Mauger and Karamo spoke more about the conference on 760 WJR‘s “JR Morning with Guy Gordon, Lloyd Jackson, and Jamie Edmonds” and “All Talk” respectively.
