UAW President to Give Updates On Strike and Automaker Negotiations Friday

DETROIT, Oct. 5, 2023 ~ UAW President Shawn Fain will give another Friday update on the ongoing auto strike amid reports of negotiation progress, though more targeted strikes are possible.

Since the UAW strike began Sept. 15, Fain has used his Friday updates twice to announce more targeted strikes against Ford Motor Co., General Motors, and Stellantis NV. However, there have been hints from the automakers that both sides are drawing closer to agreeing as the companies’ layoffs and financial losses continue to grow.
