LANSING, Oct. 13, 2023 ~ A Michigan House Democrat introduced a bill this week that would not allow homeowner associations to ban energy-efficient improvements on people’s homes.

House Bill 5028 would not allow HOA’s to ban rooftop solar panels, home electric vehicle chargers, clotheslines, and rain barrels. State Rep. Ranjeev Puri (D-Canton), who introduced the bill, said it is in line with what neighboring states, like Indiana, have done with energy regulations.
