Michigan House Bill Looks to Regulate A.I. Use in Election Ads

LANSING, Oct. 18, 2023 ~ Bills aiming to curb disinformation and video/audio deepfakes made by artificial intelligence left the Michigan House Elections Committee on Tuesday.

Introduced by Michigan State Rep. Penelope Tsernoglou (D-East Lansing), the bill would require political campaigns to disclose the use of A.I.-generated content in the ads that contain them and ban campaigns from falsifying someone’s speech or behavior 90 days before an election.
