‘No Evidence’ of Antisemitism So Far in Investigation of Detroit Synagogue Leader Samantha Woll’s Death, Detroit Police Say

DETROIT, Oct. 23, 2023 ~ “No evidence has surfaced suggesting” the fatal stabbing of Isaac Agree Downtown Synagogue President Samantha Woll was motivated by antisemitism, said Detroit Police Chief James White in a statement Sunday.

A funeral was held for Woll that same day after she was found dead outside her home on Saturday, located near Lafayette Park, with the investigation still ongoing. She was well-known as the president of the synagogue, for her political work with U.S. Rep. Elissa Slotkin (MI-7) and Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel, and being a compassionate community member who worked to help everyone she could and bridge divides.
