Michigan AG Office Drops Charges For Fake Elector After He Agrees to Fully Cooperate in Case

LANSING, Oct. 25, 2023 ~ One of the 16 Michigan Republicans charged in a fake elector scheme to overturn the 2020 presidential election results in favor of Donald Trump had his charges dropped Tuesday by Michigan Attorney Dana Nessel.

James Renner was facing eight felony charges related to election law forgery, the same number as the other defendants, but agreed to fully cooperate with Nessel’s office in the case last week in exchange for his charges being dropped.
