DETROIT, Dec. 4, 2023 ~ Another historic strike in Detroit ended Saturday as the Detroit Casino Council, a group of unions representing about 3,700 workers at Detroit’s major casinos, voted to ratify an agreement with MGM Grand Detroit.
The MGM worker’s strike lasted for 47 days, ending with a contract that includes workload reductions, a bonus, no employee cost increases for health care, and an 18% general wage increase, the largest in the casino’s history. Union workers at Hollywood Casino at Greektown and MotorCity Casino reached contract agreements on Nov. 19.
