(CONTINUED) Stony Brook shot nearly 43% in the second half, which was much better than their 13.5% in the first half. The Seawolves’ Keenan Fitzmorris was the only player on Stony Brook to finish with double digit points.
Michigan State Head Coach Tom Izzo offered post-game comments on the Spartans’ shooting improvements:
“Today they came with some vigor, that was a really encouraging part because that shows maturity…we’ve been through hell now. It’s been a tough run when you shoot as poorly as we shot in those starts and now we’ve corrected some of that. Like people say, you got to go though some hard times it makes the good times better so well see if that’s true.”
Michigan State is on Christmas break until Dec. 30 when they face–off against Indiana State inside the Breslin Center. Coverage starts at 1 p.m. on 760 WJR.
