Lansing Mayor Calls for Biden to Ban Menthol Cigarettes

LANSING, Jan. 19, 2024 ~ During a visit to Washington D.C., Lansing Mayor Andy Schor joined a public call for President Joe Biden to ban menthol cigarettes.

During the annual winter meeting of the Conference of Mayors, Schor joined other mayors from around the country asking the president to ban menthol cigarettes, which has seen delays from the White House. Menthol cigarettes have long been criticized for targeting Black communities and attracting young people into early tobacco addictions.
