LANSING, Feb. 13, 2024 ~ The city of Lansing became the latest city in Michigan on Monday to officially call for a ceasefire in Gaza.
The Lansing City Council approved the resolution that, in addition to calling for a ceasefire, denounced Islamophobia and antisemitism, anti-Palestinian bigotry, and anti-Israeli bigotry. The Ferndale City Council also passed a proclamation Monday with similar language that called for a ceasefire, joining other Michigan cities like Dearborn, Detroit, and Ann Arbor that have called for an immediate end to Israel‘s military assault on Gaza that has killed about 28,350 Palestinians.
