OXFORD, MI, March 19, 2024 ~ Following the recent convictions of James and Jennifer Crumbley, parents of slain students from their son’s 2021 Oxford High School shooting are looking for reform and investigations to hold the district accountable for any potential mishandlings on that day.
On Monday, they called on the Office of State Attorney General Dana Nessel to investigate Oxford Community Schools over how they responded to shooter Ethan Crumbley on the day he killed Hana St. Juliana, Tate Myre, Justin Shilling and Madisyn Baldwin, with the parents still left with lingering questions on if school officials criminally mishandled Crumbley’s glaring mental health crisis. In a statement to media, a spokesperson for Nessel’s office said the district has declined the attorney general to conduct an independent investigation on two separate occasions and her office has yet to receive “probable cause” to obtain a search to launch their own criminal investigation.
