DETROIT, April 18, 2024 ~ During his 2024 State of the City address, Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan highlighted the NFL Draft coming to Detroit as a sign of the city’s rebuilding progress.
The Draft, which will take place April 25-27, was the lead point for Duggan’s speech at the Dexter Avenue Baptist Church, along with moves the city has made to revitalize neighborhoods, launch cleanup initiatives, and invest in affordable housing. Detroit Deputy Mayor Todd Bettison told Guy Gordon, Lloyd Jackson, and Jamie Edmonds that, “The mayor showed that with the Duggan administration, the concentration is really the neighborhoods, and all of Detroit has benefited.”
