DETROIT, May 16, 2024 ~ The Detroit Lions are poised for a high-profile season this year with a schedule that is as daunting as it is prestigious.
The matchups, which were announced by the NFL late Wednesday, will give the Lions nine nationally televised games and five primetime starts, including an opening weekend “Sunday Night Football” home turf bout against the Matthew Stafford-led LA Rams.

(CONTINUED) Other high-profile games include a week 4 Monday night match against the Seattle Seahawks, a week 10 Sunday night trip to face the Houston Texans, a week 14 trip to face division rivals, the Green Bay Packers, and a week 17 “Monday Night Football” visit to face the defending NFC West champion San Francisco 49ers.
Also of note, the Chicago Bears are set to face the Detroit Lions in the 85th Thanksgiving Day Classic, which will mark the 20th time that the two teams have faced-off in this annual tradition, and the fourth time in the last seven years.
The news of the 2024/25 schedule comes following an exciting and productive off-season for the Lions, which included acquisitions aimed at reshaping the team’s secondary and improving their 27th-ranked pass defense, as well as the resigning of star players, wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown and quarterback Jared Goff.
