DETROIT, June 20, 2024 ~ Just one year after signing him to a $78.5 million contract, the Detroit Pistons fired head coach Monty Williams, the team announced Wednesday.

The team still has $65 million to pay out to Williams from the then-record-breaking deal made with him last year. This announcement came after the Pistons had the worst performance in the league this past season with a 14-68 won-loss record.
