CHICAGO, Aug. 21, 2024 ~ The second day of the 2024 Democratic National Convention in Chicago was topped off by speeches from former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama, though the pressure of pro-Palestinian protests continues to loom over the event.

The Obamas warned of another Donald Trump presidency, saying he would misuse power in the Oval Office. Pro-Palestinian activists continue to be frustrated with the DNC’s refusal to support an arms embargo on Israel amid its bombardment of Gaza that has killed over 40,000 people, with dozens arrested at a protest near the Chicago Israeli Consulate.
