DEARBORN, Aug. 22, 2024 ~ Ford Motor Co. has once again made changes to its plan on shifting to producing all-electric vehicles.

On Wednesday, the automaker announced it was canceling a planned three-door, all-electric crossover and delaying its next full-sized electric pickup amid slow growth in EV sales. Automotive News reporter Michael Martinez told WJR, “EV sales are still growing – Ford’s are up something like 60-some percent so far this year – but that future growth is not as high as people expected. Ford and a lot of these automakers are realizing that once you get past early adopters, tech-focused, and younger buyers that are really into EVs, it’s harder to get the mainstream buyer to make that leap.
