CHICAGO, Aug. 23, 2024 ~ Ahead of the closing speech by Democrat presidential candidate Kamala Harris, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer spoke at the final night of the Democratic National Convention.
Whitmer, a co-chair of the Harris-Walz campaign, said that Harris’ working-class background allows her to relate to voters more than former President Donald Trump. She also took jabs at Trump, referring to him as “that man from Mar-a-Lago,” referencing his 2020 comment on Whitmer as “that woman from Michigan.“
