DETROIT, Aug. 27, 2024 ~ In a Monday visit to Detroit, former President Donald Trump claimed the world is “closer to World War III” than ever.

The statement was made at the annual meeting of the National Guard Association of the United States, where he slammed the Biden Administration‘s handling of the pullout of Afghanistan, which ended a 20-plus year occupation of the country. He also said the Biden-Harris Administration supports “endless wars” and he wants to boot “warmongers” from the government. However, many anti-war advocates criticized his foreign policies during his presidency, including dropping a MOAB (mother of all bombs) on Afghanistan, and his arming of the U.S.-Saudi coalition’s nearly decade-long bombings and blockade on Yemen that left hundreds of thousands dead. Some have also claimed he helped escalate tensions between Israel and Palestine leading up to the Hamas attack on Oct. 7, including moving the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem and pushing for the Abraham Accords.
