Detroit Awarded $23.4 Million in Federal Dollars for EV Infrastructure Projects 


DETROIT, Aug. 30, 2024 ~ The city of Detroit was awarded $23.4 million in federal funding to expand electric vehicle charging infrastructure on Tuesday.

This funding is part of a broader $521 million investment under the Charging and Fueling Infrastructure Program, designed to reduce transportation emissions and increase access to EV charging stations nationwide. In Detroit, EV chargers will be publicly accessible and located near community destinations and alternate fuel corridors.

Thank you to the Biden-Harris Administration for their continued investment in the city of Detroit, not only our infrastructure, but our people,” Mayor Mike Duggan said in a press release. “We are committed to expanding equitable access to electric vehicle charging and job creation around clean energy.
