(CONTINUED) Multiple batters got it done for the Tigers, as first baseman Spencer Torkelson knocked in a run with a double, left fielder Riley Greene poked an RBI single to right field, and third baseman Matt Vierling recorded a run batted in with a sacrifice fly to ultimately pull away with a 3-0 score.
Starting pitcher Keider Montero faced the first three batters for the Guardians, sitting them back down in just six quick pitches. Left handed reliever Brant Hurter then came in for the bulk of the day, throwing just above three scoreless innings. A number of different bullpen pitchers followed, but manager A.J. Hinch called upon Tyler Holton to close the afternoon. He did so with no issue, retiring the Cleveland lineup in order of the batters he faced.
The Tigers will have a chance to move on to the American League Championship Series tomorrow with a win. First pitch is set for 6:08 p.m
