EAST LANSING, October 20, 2024 ~ Michigan State football (4-3) sent the Iowa Hawkeyes (4-3) home with a 32-20 loss for a win in the 108th annual homecoming game in East Lansing.
Graduate kicker Jonathan Kim made program history Saturday evening, going perfect on six field goal attempts to help the Spartans break their previous three game losing skid.

(CONTINUED) Sophomore quarterback Aidan Chiles had arguably his best game in the green and white against the Hawkeyes, throwing for over 250 yards and a touchdown. Turnovers have been an issue all season for the transfer underclassman, but the 19-year old only tallied one interception to go along with over 50 rushing yards against the 17th best run defense in the FBS.
Freshman wide receiver Nick Marsh made a big statement for MSU’s offense with his performance, catching eight passes for 113 yards. Redshirt senior wide receiver Montorie Foster Jr, who also finished with 100 receiving yards, and redshirt junior running back Nate Carter both added touchdowns through the air and on the ground respectively.
The Spartan defense held strong for a majority of the match, only allowing two big plays for scores. Junior defensive back Nikai Martinez recorded his second interception of the season, setting up Kim’s record breaking kick.
Michigan State will travel down the road to Ann Arbor this weekend for an under-the-lights matchup against rival Michigan, who has struggled mightily as of late.
