Michigan Meteorologist Faces Death Threats for Debunking Hurricane Conspiracies

LANSING, Oct. 21, 2024 ~ After debunking conspiracy theories surrounding the recent hurricanes Helene and Milton, a Lansing meteorologist has received death threats from those who believe in said conspiracies.

Earlier this month, WLNS Meteorologist Katie Nickolaou posted on X that she has received death threats for disproving false claims, such as governments and meteorologists can control the weather. Nickolaou told WJR that, “I started getting people talking about how we were controlling the weather, as meteorologists. Then it started to turn more violent (like), ‘We have to stop these people. Stop their breathing.’ It just got so violent so fast.
