ROYAL OAK, MI, Oct. 24, 2024 ~ A prominent Muslim Democrat is accusing the Kamala Harris campaign of Islamophobia after being kicked out of her Royal Oak rally on Monday.

Ahmed Ghanim, of Ferndale, is an Egyptian immigrant who RSVP’d for a Harris rally at the Royal Oak Music Theatre, but was booted from the venue ten minutes after going through security without given a reason. Ghanim, who primaried U.S. Rep. Haley Stevens (MI-11) in August, has been critical of Harris and other Democrats for supporting Israel‘s bombardment of Gaza and Lebanon.

The Harris campaign later released a statement that expressed regret and said Ghanim is welcome at future rallies but did not provide an explanation for his removal.
