Republicans Pick Up One Seat in Michigan Congressional Races

MICHIGAN, Nov. 6, 2024 ~ The final Michigan Congressional race was called Wednesday afternoon, with Republicans picking up seven of the 13 U.S. House seats.

The big story of the night was State Sen. Tom Barrett taking the competitive 7th District over State Sen. Curtis Hertel Jr., filling the seat left vacant by Democrat U.S. Senate candidate Elissa Slotkin. The Democrats were able to hold on to the competitive 8th District with State Sen. Kristen McDonald Rivet over Paul Junge.
