EAST LANSING, November 21, 2024 ~ Michigan State football (4-6) will look to end a three game long losing skid as Purdue (1-9) comes to Spartan Stadium Friday night.

This will mark the third Friday night game the Spartans have on their schedule, and the second one taking place at home and against a conference opponent. With the unconventional start day, the game day procedures will look a little different, with the Spartan Walk taking place at 5:45 p.m. Our Tailgate Show is set for 5 p.m. at Munn Field while kickoff will take place at 8:05 p.m.

(CONTINUED) Coming into the 69th all-time meeting between the Spartans and Boilermakers, MSU leads the series 36-29-3. The green and white have won eight of their last nine games over Purdue.

Freshman wide receiver Nick Marsh has been making a name for himself all year long, ranking third among all FBS freshmen with 67.9 receiving yards per game. In just his first college season in East Lansing, he leads the entire team in receiving yards with 611, becoming the most ever posted by a true freshman in program history.

The Spartan defense as a whole, besides the lack of a pass rush in recent weeks, has been a strong point for the team this season. The unit ranks 35th in the FBS in total defense, holding five opponents under 300 total yards this year. They allow 328.1 yards per game on average.

After a rocky couple of weeks, a win could help put Michigan State within striking distance of a bowl game.
