WASHINGTON D.C., Dec. 5, 2024 ~ U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) said goodbye to her over 50-year political career Wednesday on the Senate floor.
“We can heal the divide and work together if we just look for that one thing we can agree on to make our lives better and get it done, and then we can look again for that one thing,” Stabenow said in her farewell speech. “If we don’t let the haters divide us, we can rebuild trust with one another and be the America we want to be.” Democrat Elissa Slotkin will fill the seat of the retiring senator.
