LANSING, Dec. 11, 2024 ~ Some Michigan state representatives are trying to push a slew of economic bill changes during the lame-duck session.
These include strip-downs of labor ballot initiatives passed in 2018 that were gutted in that year’s lame-duck session by Republicans, with the original versions ordered to take effect in February by the Michigan Supreme Court earlier this year. The bills would raise the state’s minimum wage to $15 per hour by 2028 and slowly replace the tipped minimum wage with the regular one by 2030.
