DETROIT, Jan. 2, 2025 ~ Michigan politicians have been posting tributes to deceased former President Jimmy Carter, who died Dec. 29 at the age of 100.
Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer wrote on X, formerly Twitter, “President Carter was a good man and exemplary American who set a powerful example for all of us over the course of his long life,” adding praise for his work with Habitat for Humanity. U.S. Rep. Debbie Dingell (MI-6) told WJR, “His presidency I think will probably appreciate more as history continues. He was a one-term president, (and) he dealt with a lot of very tough issues.“
