Bill Ford Jr. Says Company ‘Working On’ Bringing Back Trains to Michigan Central

DETROIT, Jan. 13, 2025 ~ On Friday, Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan and Ford Motor Co. Executive Chair Bill Ford Jr. joined each other on WJR at the Detroit Auto Show Charity Preview.

The two spoke all things Detroit, in particular about the newly restored Michigan Central Station building in Corktown. Currently, the building is used for tech spaces and offices for Ford workers, though talks of having trains back at the station have swirled. When asked about the possibility of bringing back trains, Duggan said Ford is working on it, with Ford Jr. adding, “We are working on it. Nothing new announced but it’s not impossible, let’s put it that way.
