Gov. Whitmer Declines to Endorse Anyone For Gubernatorial Race

MICHIGAN, Jan. 6, 2025 ~ In a recent TV interview, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer declined to endorse a candidate in the upcoming Michigan gubernatorial race.

On PBS‘ “Off the Record,” Whitmer said “I have no plans to endorse in the next governor’s race,” when asked about whether she would make an endorsement, including several high-profile Democrats such as Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson and Lt. Gov. Garlin Gilchrist. Whitmer will finish her final term in 2026, when Michigan voters will pick a new governor.
