WEST BLOOMFIELD, Jan. 16, 2025 ~ Lifelong dedicated Detroit Lions fan 80-year-old Jay Barry has never given up on the Lions, even during its most dismal season.
Barry and other residents at the Jewish Senior Life Center in West Bloomfield recently held a Lions pep rally amid an impressive season for the team. From 1965 to 1970, he held season tickets in the bleachers for $5 a game. He owns two game jerseys worn by former Detroit Lions punter Tom Skladany and long snapper Scott Daly and a 1967 autographed football signed by running back Mel Farr, placekicker Garo Yepremian, and other players. The retired accountant believes the Lions are winning this season thanks to great leadership and players who won’t give up no matter what.
