DETROIT, Jan. 24, 2025 ~ General Motors and Bedrock have released their plans for what the current Renaissance Center could look like in the future.
A mix of housing, hotel, office space, and a family-friendly entertainment destination awaits for the center, according to plans released at the Detroit Policy Conference. The plan also calls for the removal of the wall surrounding the complex and building a new park and connecting downtown to the waterfront.

(CONTINUED) Here are some of the details:
- Tower 300 and Tower 400 would be knocked down.
- The central tower would be converted into a hotel with apartments at the top.
- Tower 100 would be converted into apartments that include mixed-income and affordable units
- Tower 200 will remain an office tower
The price tag for this proposal would be $1.6 billion, with $1 billion coming from Bedrock, $250 million coming from GM, $100 million coming from the city of Detroit, and $250 million from the state.
