EAST LANSING, March 15, 2025 ~ No. 1 seeded Michigan State basketball fell 77-74 in the final seconds to No. 5 seeded Wisconsin in the semifinals of the Big Ten Tournament in Indianapolis Saturday afternoon on a late steal by Badgers graduate guard John Tonje. Tonje led all scorers with 32 points, as well as adding seven rebounds.
Freshman guard Jase Richardson led the Spartans in scoring once again, recording 21 points while also adding seven rebounds. Junior center Carson Cooper led all players with 10 rebounds while adding eight points.
Redshirt freshman point guard Jeremy Fears Jr. and junior point guard Tre Holloman also reached double figures in the scoring column, tallying 14 and 10 respectively. Fears also dished out six assists while Holloman struggled with his shot, only converting 3-12 attempts.

(CONTINUED) Senior guard Jaden Akins also had a tough shooting performance, finishing 2-8 from the field and 1-4 from beyond the arc.
Wisconsin sophomore guard and Brother Rice alumni John Blackwell finished second on his team in scoring with 14 points.
