MSU Hockey Earns Four All-Big Ten Selections

EAST LANSING, March 19, 2025 ~ After earning the Big Ten regular season championship, Michigan State hockey had four players selected for all-conference awards. Junior forward Isaac Howard brought home Big Ten Player of the Year while sophomore goaltender Trey Augustine earned Big Ten Goaltender of the Year

Both Howard and Augustine were also named First Team All-Big Ten. Junior defenseman Matt Basgall made First Team All-Big Ten as well, while also being named the Big Ten Sportsmanship Honoree

Junior forward Karsen Dorwart was listed as an Honorable Mention All-Big Ten selection for the second consecutive year.

(CONTINUED) Howard led the league in scoring with 33 points, dishing out 17 assists. He is the third ever skater to win Player of the Year in the green and white. 

Augustine, who is currently the youngest starting goalie in college hockey, leads the conference in wins and save percentage. 

Basgall finished second in voting for Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year and finished second in the conference in assists behind Howard, while Dorwart overcame an early-season injury to finish the season with 27 points. 

The Spartans will look to make it back-to-back years with both a conference regular season championship and Big Ten Tournament title. After shutting out Notre Dame in the semifinals, the tournament’s finale will be held at Munn Arena in East Lansing against Ohio State on Saturday, March 22
