U-M President Boasts Increased Invests into Israel Amind Calls for Divestment

ANN ARBOR, MARCH 19, 2025 ~ University of Michigan President Santa Ono recently stirred controversy by speaking at a pro-Israel conference, particularly with his comments on divesting from the country.

During his speech at an Anti-Defamation League conference in early March, Ono not only disavowed the call for divestment from Israel but said the university has actually invested “even more.” Pro-Palestinian student activists have been consistently calling for the university to divest from Israel since the country began its brutal assault on Gaza in late 2023 which has killed over 48,000 people, mostly women and children.
