MICHIGAN, April 16, 2025 ~ On Tuesday, the Ingham County Health Department announced its first measles case in 30 years, marking Michigan‘s fifth case this year.
The patient is a 1-year-old girl whose parents recently traveled out of state with her, with other cases reported from Kent, Oakland, Macomb and Montcalm counties. The highly infectious disease is marked by a high fever, coughs, a runny nose, irritated eyes, white spots known as Kopliks inside the mouth, and a red rash starting on the face before it spreads to the rest of the body.
