OAKLAND COUNTY, April 23, 2025 ~ I-696 Westbound is shutting down for 10 days in May for construction, causing some concerns for commuters.
The Michigan Department of Transportation will also tear down the Church Street Plaza in Oak Park as part of the project. The closure, starting on May 9, comes as I-696 Eastbound was closed in March for a two-year-long construction project.
