State senator Virgil Smith was back in court Friday morning for a probable cause hearing. A judge set his preliminary examination for June 12th. His bond was continued. Smith was arraigned last week on three felonies and one misdemeanor after an altercation with his ex-wife where he allegedly shot at her car several times.
Smith has been stripped of his committee assignments and role as leader in the democratic caucus after charges were issued.
