Detroit Police Chief stirs controversy with comments, says story was “misinterpreted”

Detroit Police Chief James Craig set off a fire storm after it was reported that he would not buy gas in the city of Detroit after dark over safety concerns. Detroit pastor Horace Sheffield III talked to Paul W. Smith Wednesday morning and said if Chief Craig won’t stop at Detroit gas stations at night, then he should just keep going:

Chief Craig responded on the Frank Beckmann Show later, saying he’s not afraid to buy gas but won’t do it unless it’s in a well-lit area. He says his comments were taken the wrong way, that the story was “misinterpreted”.
