Update On WMU Student Killing

Police have arrested a second suspect in the shooting death of a 19-year-old Western Michigan University student.

The suspect, a 20-year-old Muskegon man, was arrested in Muskegon and is jailed.

Jake Jones was shot and killed Dec. 8 at an off-campus apartment in Kalamazoo. Police say two men came to the apartment, wearing bandanas over their faces, and stole demanding computers, cell phones, video games and cash.

A friend of Jones said Jones stood up to tell the robbers “Just calm down, we’ll get you what you want.” One of the robbers went to hit him with a gun when it fired, killing Jones.
