Russian Ambassador Killed in Turkey

Russia’s ambassador to Turkey is dead after he was shot during a targeted attack in the capital city of Ankara. Ambassador Andrei Karlov was shot several times by a lone gunman while giving a speech at a photo exhibit in an art gallery. Turkish media is reporting three other people were wounded. The state-run news agency said the shooter was, quote, “neutralized” by special forces. The shooting came on the heels of protests in Turkey over Russia’s role in neighboring Syria. There is no word on who might be responsible for the attack.
