Body found in lake may be Ypsilanti woman who disappeared last year

A body pulled from a lake in Washtenaw County is being examined to determine if it’s Tonya Jackson, a 42 year old mother of 3, who disappeared a year ago. Jackson, of Ypsilanti, was last seen with a friend at a Romulus motel in May 2014.

Investigators had been searching Ford Lake after her wallet was found near there this week. Her family says police have told them they also recovered a silver SUV from Ford Lake. Jackson was driving a silver SUV at the time of her disappearance.

Jackson’s credits cards and bank accounts have not been used in more than a year. However, her name was found written on a napkin at a restaurant in Ohio along with a man’s name and the description of a car.
