Clarkston Jewelry Robbers Face Judge

A court hearing is scheduled for today for one of the two men charged in the robbery and shooting of a Clarkston jewelry store owner.

48 year old Roy Genright of Detroit has been held on a one million dollar bond since the December 17th incident.

Police say he shot 51 year old Daniel Chiappelli in the back during a robbery of the Clarkston Jewelry Outlet.

The store owner, despite being wounded, followed Genright and another man identified as Jimmie Walker Junior in his pickup.

When he attempted to block their vehicle, they fired several shots at him.

He rammed the vehicle and they fled on foot.

Genright was chased down by deputies, Walker got away, but was captured later.

Court records show that Genright had been paroled in February of 2015 after serving 22 years for an armed robbery in Detroit and also had past convictions for auto theft and breaking and entering.
