Vote Coming On DeVos

devos

The U.S. Senate is expected to hold a vote this morning on the nomination of Betsy DeVos to be Secretary of Education.

The billionaire from west Michigan has drawn much criticism since her nomination with Democrats and public school interests targeting her for defeat.

Republican lawmakers hope an early vote will keep Democrats from blocking the vote. Two Republican senators say they will vote against her.
DeVos appears to have 50 votes right now. If it stays that way Vice President Mike Pence would pass the tie-breaking vote.
