Detroit officer involved in fatal shooting.

Detroit police continue the investigation into an incident where a Detroit police officer fatally shot a suspect after a foot chase and struggle on the city’s west side at Otsego and Webb streets.

Police say  the man was fleeing from police in a green Pontiac Bonneville.  He  lost control of his vehicle, hitting a utility pole. The man got out of the vehicle and ran on foot.

Chief Craig said the officer was in the process of handcuffing the man when the suspect tried grab the officer’s gun. Police said the officer got into a scuffle with the man and fatally shot him.

The officer was not injured.
