Detroit Standoff Over

Detroit Police took a barricaded gunman into custody after he fired a gun at officers.

It started when the suspect’s dog got loose Sunday afternoon and ran into a neighbor’s yard. The neighbor returned the dog and the man gave the neighbor his watch. Police say the man went back to the neighbor’s house, pointed a gun at him and demanded his watch back. The neighbor called police after giving the watch back .

When police arrived, the man became irate and started breaking windows and fired at least one shot at officers.
The man was taken into custody without incident after more than eight hours.
