RTA CEO Under Fire

A meeting today could determine the future of Regional Transit Authority CEO Michael Ford.

The authorities board of directors is looking into questionable travel expenses that included luxury hotel rooms costing over 550 dollars a night.

Following a closed door meeting of the board last week, Ford repaid the authority just over 18-thousand-800 dollars.

The Detroit News had reported that the 55 year old Ford had charged the authority about 37-thousand dollars for travel expenses over the past 2 1/2 years.
Board members are to meet today to consider whether to renew Ford’s annual 200-thousand-dollar-a-year contract, which expires in October.
