Trials Resume In Fireman’s Murder

The last of three people charged in the death of a Detroit firefighter is scheduled to go on trial today.
Firefighter David Madrigal’s body was found a few days before Christmas in his home on Vaughn on the city’s west side.

He had been beaten and hit with a gym weight.

Christian Rasnick and Timmy Soto pled guilty in the case and are serving prison terms of between 30 and 80 years.

Rasnick said he had gone to Madrigal’s home with Soto and Soto’s girlfriend Nicole O’Neill in what was supposed to be a robbery.

Police say O’Neill knew the firefighter and used her friendship to gain entrance into the home.

O’Neill says she then left the home and didn’t know Madrigal would be killed.

She goes on trial today, charged with murder.
