Trump Coming To Detroit Area To Help Auto’s

President Trump is expected announce a renewed review of vehicle fuel efficiency rules sought by the auto industry in Ypsilanti on Wednesday with the CEOs of U.S. automakers.

Trump is expected to visit Ypsilanti and announce his administration’s decision to revive a review of the feasibility of the vehicle emissions rules, after the Obama administration moved in its final days to lock in the rules. Executives from Japanese and German automakers are also expected to attend.
Automakers have been pushing to reverse the Obama administration decision to move up stringent fuel economy and emission rules. The EPA had until April 2018 to decide whether the standards were feasible under a “midterm review,” but speeded up the decision a week before President Barack Obama left office.

Automakers argue the vehicle emissions rules, which would raise the fleet average fuel efficiency to more than 50 mpg by 2025 , will impose huge costs and are out of step with consumers.
