DNA Links Two Police Shooting Cases

The man accused of shooting two Detroit Police officers is now the suspect in the murder of Wayne State campus police officer Colin Rose.

DNA evidence is now linking the suspect involved in the shooting of two Detroit police officers to the murder of Wayne State Police Officer, Colin Rose.
DNA from 60-year-old Raymond Durham matches three points of contact from both shootings. DNA evidence was found on Officer Rose, gloves and a flashlight.

Those two Detroit police officers are recovering.

Durham’s family says he has mental health problems.

Police arrested Durham on the city’s west side about two hours after a gun battle that left two officers wounded late Wednesday night. Both the 60-year-old suspect and officers are in stable condition with bullet wounds.
Police are now conducting ballistics tests to determine if the gun used by Durham in shooting the two officers was the gun used in the killing of Sgt. Rose.
